iBuyXS brokers electronic components for a global supply chain that runs on urgency and scarcity, serving 34,000+ clients who need parts that are often unavailable through standard channels.

The Challenge

Electronic component sourcing breaks down exactly when it matters most — during shortages, discontinuations, and inventory surpluses that don’t fit neatly into a standard supplier catalog. iBuyXS needed a platform that could match buyers and suppliers across a fragmented, global market, while also giving companies a way to recover value from excess inventory instead of writing it off. At 34,000+ clients, this couldn’t be a manual, relationship-driven process — it needed real workflows and a real marketplace.

What We Built

A web platform and marketplace built around the mechanics of component sourcing and inventory recovery:

Technical Approach

We built the marketplace around structured listings and matching logic suited to how components actually get sourced — by part number, specification, and availability — rather than a generic product catalog UI. The BidChips system was built as its own workflow within the platform, handling the bid/offer mechanics that component trading requires.

Architecture Decisions

We treated matching and search as the core product problem, since the value of a components marketplace is entirely in how fast a buyer can find the right part from the right supplier during a shortage. Inventory recovery was built as a first-class workflow rather than bolted onto the standard buying flow, since the seller-side motivation (recovering value, avoiding write-offs) is fundamentally different from a typical listing.
